Looking for work that fits your life — and makes a difference? What if your next job was close to home, meaningful and genuinely rewarding?

BallyCara is looking for Qualified Support Workers to join our Support at Home team, supporting older Australians to remain independent, connected and happy in their own homes.

This is more than a support role. You’ll become a familiar and trusted face in someone’s week — helping them live life on their terms.

Why you’ll love this opportunity

  • Work locally across Bribie Island, Deception Bay, Burpengary and surrounding areas
  • Contracted hours of 8am–1pm, 4–5 days per week
  • Availability required between 8am–4pm
  • Spend your day supporting clients in their own homes and communities
  • Build genuine relationships and make a visible difference
  • Join a supportive team that values the work you do

Live Local. Work Local. Make a Difference.

Job Description

We know that finding the right work isn’t just about the hours — it’s about finding a role that works for you.

Working in our community means less time sitting in an office and more time doing something meaningful. You’ll travel between clients in your local area, getting to know the people you support and helping them continue doing the things they enjoy.

Every visit is different. Every client has their own goals. And every visit matters.

What will you be doing?

As a Support Worker, you’ll provide practical and personal support that helps our clients maintain their independence, dignity and quality of life.

Your day might include:

  • Providing personal care and mobility assistance
  • Preparing meals and providing domestic support
  • Accompanying clients shopping or on community outings
  • Providing transport to appointments, with kilometres paid
  • Supporting clients to remain socially connected
  • Encouraging clients to achieve their personal goals
  • Building positive, respectful relationships with clients and their families
  • Working closely with the care team to deliver safe, high-quality support

It could be helping someone get ready for the day, preparing their favourite meal, taking them shopping or simply having a conversation over a cup of tea.

Desired Skills and Experience

It’s the everyday moments that make a real difference.

Is this you?

We’re looking for people who are compassionate, reliable and genuinely enjoy working with older people.

You’ll need:

  • Availability Monday–Friday between 8am–4pm
  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care or Community)
  • Previous experience in community or aged care support
  • A warm, respectful and relationship-focused approach
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A current Australian Driver’s Licence
  • A reliable, registered and comprehensively insured vehicle
  • Current First Aid & CPR
  • National Police Check, or willingness to obtain one through BallyCara
  • COVID-19 and Influenza vaccinations are highly recommended.
