Help leaders thrive and create great employee experiences
At BallyCara, our happiness ethos sits at the heart of everything we do. We believe great workplaces are built through caring leadership, strong relationships and practical support that helps both people and teams flourish.
This role blends hands-on HR business partnering with organisation-wide influence.
On one hand, you will be deeply embedded with your client groups, providing calm, confident and practical advice across the full employee lifecycle. On the other, you will help build something bigger: a stronger, more consistent and capability-driven approach to employee relations across BallyCara.
We are looking for an experienced People & Culture professional who enjoys partnering with leaders, navigating complex people matters and creating practical resources that make people management easier and more effective. You will help leaders succeed while creating positive experiences for employees across the organisation.
Why BallyCara?
Guided by our SONA® (Happiness) values, we invest in the emotional, physical, professional and financial wellbeing of our people. Along with generous salary packaging and wellbeing benefits, including wellbeing leave, you will join a warm, values-driven culture where relationships matter, ideas are welcomed and your contribution makes a genuine difference.
Flexibility and wellbeing that works for you
We know flexibility and wellbeing mean different things to different people. This 30-hour part-time role can be shaped across school hours or a nine-day fortnight, with the option of one day working from home, supporting balance between work and life.
We care for the whole person, not just the role. This includes a wellness day each year, a fitness allowance to support physical wellbeing, and paid study leave and development support to continue building capability and career growth.
Benefits also include generous not-for-profit salary packaging (up to $18,550), annual leave loading, and access to EAP support when required.
To support professional identity and connection to best practice, annual AHRI membership is fully funded.
About the Role
Reporting to the Senior People & Culture Business Partner, you will provide trusted advice and support leaders across the employee lifecycle. You will coach leaders through employee relations matters and help create practical solutions that deliver positive outcomes for both employees and the organisation.
You will also play a key role in strengthening employee relations capability across BallyCara. Working closely with the broader People & Culture team, you will develop practical resources, templates and leader toolkits that build confidence, create consistency and make managing people easier.
Key areas of focus include:
- Employee relations, performance and conduct management across a diverse workforce
- Workplace investigations and complex case management, including sensitive and high-risk matters
- Leadership coaching and capability development to uplift people leadership across the organisation
- Partnering with leaders to support a large, complex client group (approx. 150 employees), implementing the people strategy, leadership capability and workforce outcomes
- Employment legislation, industrial instruments and policy advice with a practical, solutions-focused approach
- Workforce planning and continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen capability, consistency and efficiency
- Development of employee relations resources, performance tools and leader guides to build confidence and consistency in practice
About You
You are an experienced HR professional who combines sound technical knowledge with warmth, good judgement and a practical approach. You enjoy coaching leaders, solving complex people challenges and creating resources that leave a lasting impact.
You will bring:
- A tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, Psychology or a related discipline.
- At least five years' experience in a Human Resources or People & Culture Business Partner role, with significant exposure to complex employee relations matters.
- Demonstrated expertise in performance management, workplace investigations, grievances, misconduct and complex case management.
- Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation, industrial relations principles and contemporary HR practice.
- Experience coaching and influencing leaders to build capability and confidence.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex issues into practical guidance.
- Strong judgement, discretion and the ability to navigate sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy.
- A passion for building leader capability and creating tools and resources that help others succeed.
