Job Description

This role is responsible for promoting our ‘Village of Friends’ culture by designing, developing, and implementing activities, functions and events that support wellness, foster inclusion, and create memorable experiences.

Using your flair for creativity and eye for detail you will be required to develop a strong understanding of what Residents want and need whilst proactively identifying opportunities to enhance Resident satisfaction.

Your commercial acumen and ability to construct, and stay within, a budget will ensure that all lifestyle undertakings are financially viable.

A flexible approach to your roster and a confident manner when speaking to a group means that you can host activities, functions and events when required.

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate Village activities, functions and events that entertain, inform, include, celebrate, and promote an environment of wellness, happiness, and community.
  • Host Village activities, functions and events as directed by the Village General Manager (VGM).
  • Create and adhere to a budget when managing the financial operations of activities, functions, and events, ensuring their financial viability.
  • Liaise with external contractors, suppliers, and customers to ensure successful activities, functions, and events.
  • Work collaboratively and positively with other BallyCara Teams to ensure that the communication of activities, functions, and events to all stakeholders, particularly Residents, is timely, professional, and welcoming.
  • Process administrative tasks related to activities, functions, and events.
  • Effectively facilitate the operation of Reception areas when required.
  • Provide additional support to BallyCara’s operations as directed by the VGM.

Desired Skills and Experience

REQUIREMENTS

Essential

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar position, event Management or equivalent certificate in tertiary education.
  • Demonstrated experience in events planning and management – or project management – to enable the effective scheduling and delivery of events both onsite and external to the village.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, particularly the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders that are respectful and have a foundation of trust.
  • Strong organisational skills to carry out the planning, implementation and analysis of activities, functions, and events.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills that enable the positive and compelling promotion of all lifestyle activities to maximise attendance and positive feedback.

Desirable

  • Experience in a similar role within the aged care or retirement village sector

Position requirements

  • National Police Check clearance (or willingness to obtain).
  • Current First Aid & CPR certificates.
  • 2 x COVID-19 vaccinations
  • Current Australian Driver’s License
