Are you a finance professional ready to lead with precision and drive meaningful impact? BallyCara is seeking a Senior Financial Services Officer to join our supportive and dedicated team in Scarborough.
In this full-time role, you’ll play a key part in managing day-to-day financial operations, focusing on overseeing Accounts Payable (AP), supporting Accounts Receivable (AR), and Payroll functions. You’ll ensure smooth processes, compliance, and excellence in service delivery. With a focus on leadership and collaboration, this role is perfect for someone who thrives on detail and values teamwork in a vibrant, purpose-driven organisation. The ideal candidate will join our team in January 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and support a high-performing Accounts Payable (AP) team, ensuring accurate payments, compliance, and efficient processes.
Assist with Accounts Receivable (AR) activities, including processing payments, reconciling accounts, and managing overdue balances.
Provide backup support to the Payroll Officer when required, assisting with end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, and compliance with awards.
Perform data entry tasks across AP, AR, and payroll functions with high attention to detail and accuracy.
Maintain accurate records, manage system updates, and oversee financial controls across all functions.
Collaborate with the finance team to enhance operational efficiency, resolve queries, and achieve team objectives.
Contribute to projects and process improvements while staying up to date with relevant legislation and best practices.
Desired Skills and Experience
What we're looking for!
Qualification in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is desirable, or 3-4 years in a similar role.
Strong staff management skills, including performance management and setting priorities
Knowledge of Australian accounting standards, GST, BAS, payroll regulations, and ATO compliance.
Proficiency in financial software (e.g., MYOB, Xero, Reckon, or similar ERP systems).
Previous experience in payroll processing
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach.
Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and meet deadlines.
High level of attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
Strong customer service skills, with the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders and resolve issues.
Ability to adapt and manage day-to-day priorities while meeting competing deadlines.
